Statement on Expanding the California Earned Income Tax Credit to Include a Larger Group of Immigrant Workers We are pleased to announce our support for the expansion of the California Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) to encompass a broader spectrum of immigrant workers. This initiative aims to provide financial relief and assistance to a larger number of individuals who contribute significantly to our state's economy. The California EITC has proven to be an effective tool in combating poverty and uplifting low-income households. However, there is a group of immigrant workers who have been excluded from accessing this vital support due to their immigration status. It is paramount that we address this issue and ensure that everyone, regardless of their background, has access to the resources they need to thrive. Expanding the California EITC will not only provide immediate financial support to these immigrant workers, but it will also enable them to invest in their families, education, and overall well-being. By strengthening the economic stability of these individuals, we are fostering a more inclusive and prosperous society for all Californians. We understand that there may be concerns about the financial implications of this expansion. However, the positive impact and long-term benefits far outweigh any short-term costs. Increasing the eligibility criteria will result in a stronger workforce, increased consumer spending, and ultimately a boost to our economy. In conclusion, we strongly believe that expanding the California Earned Income Tax Credit to include a larger group of immigrant workers is a necessary step towards building an equitable and thriving society. We urge policymakers to support this initiative and work towards creating an inclusive environment where all individuals can prosper.

GSO President Amy Everitt Addresses Reduction in Vital CalEITC Outreach & Education Fund Statement by GSO President Amy Everitt Today, I would like to address the recently implemented reduction in funds for the crucial CalEITC Outreach & Education Grants. The Global Support Organization (GSO) expresses deep concern regarding this development. As the President of GSO, I am compelled to emphasize the significance of these grants in providing vital resources to support the CalEITC program, particularly in terms of outreach and education initiatives. The CalEITC program has proven to be a remarkable tool in assisting eligible low-income Californians in securing financial stability. It has helped countless individuals claim their rightful tax credits and improve their quality of life. However, the success of this program heavily relies on effective outreach and education efforts. Thus, it is disheartening to witness a cut in funding for these essential components. As we all understand, outreach and education are crucial in ensuring that eligible individuals are aware of their eligibility for the CalEITC program and are provided the necessary guidance to claim their benefits accurately. GSO firmly believes that the reduction in the CalEITC Outreach & Education Grants will hinder the program's ability to reach its target audience effectively. It may result in a lack of awareness among potential beneficiaries, thereby denying them the opportunity to access the much-needed financial support. We urge the authorities to reconsider this decision and restore the funding to its original level. Continuing the adequate provision of resources for outreach and education is essential to ensure the continued success of the CalEITC program in lifting Californians out of poverty and helping to build a stronger society for all. Thank you, Amy Everitt President, Global Support Organization
