We express our appreciation to Governor Gavin Newsom for endorsing AB1876, which aims to broaden the scope of eligibility for CalEITC to encompass all low-wage immigrant workers. This advancement ensures that diligent taxpayers in similar occupations will now have the opportunity to receive equal tax refunds. Immigrant workers and their families, who have been denied federal pandemic assistance, endure the weight of COVID-19's impact through layoffs and the loss of employment opportunities. two in threeNewly eligible workers, who are crucial frontline workers during the pandemic, play a vital role in the fight against poverty. The CalEITC program, known for its success, is now even more inclusive and considered one of the most effective anti-poverty initiatives in the nation.
